For CRS Temporary Housing we build a Ruby on Rails Web Application to provide real-time analytics and reporting.
The CRS Dashboard is a multi-datasource Rails application interacting with a MySQL database, a local SQLite database and Salesforce.com to track milestones in several key business processes at CRS.
The CRS Dashboard also provided a custom report building tool to access and correlate data from several of CRS' systems. Due to the complexity of some of the reports, the CRS Dashboard report runner uses monitored background processes to offload the report creation.
The simple but effective User Interface of the Dashboard utilizes unobtrusive jQuery and jQuery UI to provide the adequate degree of interactivity.
